Welcome to the world of pen palling! The ancient art of letter writing is slowly going extinct thanks to email and Facebook, but it's still alive and vibrant. There are still many folks out there happy to get a letter instead of a bill. Pen pals learn a lot about different cultures and find friendship in many different types of people. Pen palling is great for children and helps them with their writing and spelling skills which they desperately need if you've ever gotten a text for your kid!
Check out Linking Letters many ads or maybe place one yourself. A new friend may just be on the other side of your mailbox!
How do I submit my ad?
I have just updated my pen pal categories. Submitting your ad is now easier! Go to the category that you would like your ad to appear in. It looks like a blog! Click on the "comments" link and add your information.
Please keep to the category. If the category is 'Men', then men shouldn't be there replying to women's post asking for a relationship. Move on over to the 'Relationships' category. PLEASE do not 'Reply' to a post. If you would like to speak with that person, then please email or write to them.
I have another website that I have had for about 17 years. It began as a website to share pictures and information about my kids to their grandparents since they weren't able to see them regularly. After a while, the grandparents lost interest (I know, it sounds harsh, but it's true) and the website took many twists and turns. I didn't want to give it up so I kept trying to think of things I could do with it. I think I got it. Read the blog post below.

I GOT IT!!!
So I was at work the other day and the media specialist I work with asked me if I had read this book titled "One World, One Day". It was a nonfiction picture book so I read it quickly. It goes through a whole day, but through various countries.
The book was simple yet poignant. We all go through each day...together...yet in different ways. There is no better time in history to understand this concept than right now.
There is so much hate. There is so much violence. There is so much misunderstanding. There is so much negativity.
There is so much life. There is so much beauty. There is so much love. There is so much hope.
That is what Traciecam needs to be about.
Connecting the world through pictures, words, experiences...
and really getting to know each other and understanding how our lives are truly similar.
One world, one day.
I like it.
I thought I should post about this idea here since so many people from around the world look at this site and may be interested. If you ARE interested, then please hop by my other website - Traciecam - and read about the project and see if it's something you'd like to help with. All the information is over there. Spread the word and I hope to hear from all of you!

I Will Always Write Back
By: Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda
This is a really great book about a 7th grade girl who chose Zimbabwe as her country of choice for a class pen pal assignment. In Zimbabwe a gifted young man gets the opportunity to receive a pen pal letter from an American student. They have no idea how they will change each other lives. I Will Always Write Back is a wonderful story about two pen pals who become lifelong friends.
